Red Light Therapy for Muscle Soreness & Athletic Recovery

Supporting faster recovery between training sessions by promoting circulation and reducing exercise-induced inflammation, without medication or downtime.

Mechanism

Why red light therapy for muscle recovery

Light absorbed by muscle tissue supports cellular energy production, helping reduce soreness and speed return to training. Near-infrared wavelengths reach deeper into muscle, where exercise-induced micro-damage and inflammation occur.

Targeted wavelengths

Our ARRC LED ATP RFQ bed delivers red and near-infrared light across an expanded range of chromophore targets. Red wavelengths work at the skin's surface; near-infrared penetrates deeper into tissue.

Cellular response

Light absorption increases cellular energy production (ATP), which supports tissue repair, collagen synthesis, and improved local circulation.

Cumulative benefit

Results build over a series of sessions. Most treatment plans involve 2–3 sessions per week over several weeks, tailored to your goals at your first visit.

Evidence

What the evidence suggests

  • It is cumulative, not instant. Benefit tends to build over a course of sessions rather than after a single visit, as the effect on circulation and tissue compounds.
  • Timing matters. Sessions are often most useful close to training, either to prime muscle beforehand or support recovery afterward.
  • It is a complement, not a cure. Red light therapy supports your existing training and recovery routine rather than replacing rest, hydration, or proper load management.
  • Results vary by person and load. Training volume, recovery habits, and how the soreness presents all affect what you can expect.

We set realistic expectations from the first conversation. If we don't think red light therapy is likely to help your particular situation, we'll tell you plainly.

Process

What to expect

  1. Initial consultation.

We review your goals, health history, and any medications that affect light sensitivity, then build your treatment plan.

  2. Treatment.

You relax lying down in our ARRC LED ATP RFQ bed for 10 to 20 minutes. Sessions are warm and comfortable, with no pain and no downtime.

  3. Follow-up.

We track your progress across sessions and adjust frequency and duration as your results develop.
